Maximum mounting depth of my enclosure?

Just saying because someone told me that my box was huge and that I would probably be able to fit beefier subwoofers in there.

At the moment I currently have Kicker 2-Ohm CVT shallows, and they're loud but only when you turn the bass boost up and the bass eq on the amplifier up and I was wondering what were my options.

ull b fine with a beefier sub... leave about .5-1" breathing room behind the sub.. is this box sealed? i assume so.. im sure it has polyfill in it too.. so the sub isnt gonna breathe neways.. so just leave a lil room behind and ur fine..

Sealed and no polyfill...

But whats an estimate on a good mounting depth I can depend on?

then take that 9" subtract 5/8 and 5/8 and that will give u the mounting depth.. also depends on the angle of the box as to how shallow of a sub ull need to run.. whats the inside depth at the top of the 12" opening... stuff some poly in there dude //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Like, for example, if I wanted to fit a full-size subwoofer, something that may take between 6 5/8"(CVX) or 7.7"(Alpine Type-R). Would it be possible to polyfill the box and still not having to worry about overheating issues and whatnot?

take a measuring tape, go to the top of the mounting hole, measure from the outer edge ot the hole back until the tape measure hits the rear of the box. Then subtract about 1.5" and you'll have a maximum depth. As for subs there are alot of choices. I believe the Type-R's will want more power than you have. The Shiva and it's clones get very loud with small amounts of power... plus they are fairly shallow.

EDIT: they don't come in 2ohm SVC so no go there....

If those are the outside dimensions, here is rough drawing showing what you can get away with as far as mounting options. If you mount the sub closer to the bottom, then it increases the available mounting depth for the sub. you should be able to go as high as 6.5 to 7 if you mount the sub to where its almost flush with the bottom edge.

If you mount the sub lower, you can get this
