Hey, I'm tryin to find the best route for my 4ga wire through the firewall. I can spot only one gromemt underneath the trunk, but I spot two grommets underneath the dash and don't know where they lead. I also think I need more wire //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

Another question, how did you guys mount your crossovers in your doors? I'm doin that first thing tomorrow morning and I don't know how I should do it! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif

i usualy run my wire through stock gromets seems to work well...
as far as xovers i used velco or comand adhesive strips(if u want them to come off easy)
Eh, I just want them to stick, preferably on top of 2-3 layers of eDead //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

I took 3 hours to deaden the pass side door, and **** I coated that with over 20sq ft! Midbass here we come //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

For the power cable, look on your left (or right) fender, looking from the door jam. See if you can see a gap in the fender. A lot of cars have this, the gap is where the hood sits flush with the body of the car. I have my power wire ran through this gap, easiest place to put it. If you do have the gap, then run the cable through there, then down into the door jam, and into the rubber grommet with all the door wires, find where those wires come inside of the car, and pull the power cable through. Very simple...

Or, my brother didnt have this spot on his 94 DeVille. There was also no stock holes in the firewall. He chose to run the cable through the opening where the steering column is. I would never do this, but he says it wont matter... Pretty sure it takes some experience when doing that though.

I have a gap, but I'm not sure if it'll accomodate 4ga. I thought that would be the best way to wire it.

You think it'll be a big problem that my component speaker wire runs through the door jam too. They'd be parallel for about 1 foot. Alternator whine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif ?

Hmm.. Could get some whine from it. My friend had some when he wired his power wire with his RCA's, he wrapped the power cable in electrical tape to further insulate it and it solved the problem.

Just try it... If you get whine, you know where your problem is.

Yea. hopefully I won't get whine. I got knukonceptz wiring, and they are both well insulated (alot more than 3 wraps around of electrical tape). But if I get whine I could figure somethin out. But the shielding on the 12ga is the same thickness as the wire itself...

When I had my alarm installed I paid the shop $20 to do the power wire for me. I recommend doing that if you can, especially if you have a car without an (easily) accessible grommet. They'll just drill it for you. Just a suggestion.

i ended up running it thru the door jam and up thru the upper fender area, straight into the trunk. it's fine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif
