Match a sub to my amp for me please.

I have a viper d300.1 and was going to move from 2 less than stellar 12's to a single 12 of greater quality.

viper is rated at

200x1 @ 4 ohms

300x1 @ 2 Ohms

I would like the sub to be able to fit in a geo storm hatch and as for price......like maybe 125 bucks with a box.

Is there any hope for me?

Are you looking for spl, sq, sql? You are kind of limiting yourself with only $125.

if you can get that sub for only 99 cents, then its a good idea. otherwise, no. If you can use a single 10," PM ruckus. He is selling a 1500SPL with a box custom built for it, it will cost you less than $125 shipped and run pretty well off that amp.

you can get good SQ subs and SPL subs in that price range. SQL subs tend to be a bit more pricey. but if your going for SPL, that setup that ruckus is sellling would work nicely for you.

spl i imagine as quality comes only at a price

if you see my sig you realise why I hanet got much $ to spend....the wife is going to kill me when she sees a 125 withdrawl from the checking account as is.

a model number would help. if its the pentagonal subs, I would keep those, they really arent THAT bad for budget subs. I'd be surprised if the 10" premier would get louder. I mean its a good sub, but the cone area advantage the sonys have is just too much. If theyre the cheaper models though, you might see a reasonable improvement going with the premier.

What kind of box are your sonys currently in?
