Massive Audio CK6V vs. CDT HD61A

The cdt will prolly give you better bass. Because the Mids are design to produce more bass than regular Mids. They are more of a sub
Whichever pair I choose will be the only speakers in my car. More bass sounds good but do they give up quality in the mids and treble? I pretty much just want the best possible overall sound quality. Also how do they compare in terms of harshness of the tweeters?

Sounds like either one would work out..which makes my decision hard. Can anyone say for sure if the CDT's are a step up? If they are I'll pay the bit extra..

Thanks

I have a lower-tier pair of CDT comps and am very pleased with them. Very clean, no distortion at high volumes, and not a harsh tweeter. Because of that, I'd lean towards the CDT, and especially so if what mylows said about the mid-bass is true. There's certainly not sound quality lost to my ear.

Those are both mid-level components from each respective brand. I haven't used Massive Audio components but I do like their slim coaxials and Nano Block amps. I have a fair amount of experience with CDT Audio as a dealer and the HD series is excellent. The HD-61 and HD-61a sets are revised for 2012 and they are better than ever for the price of under $300. CDT Audio is about SQ. The Pro Audio trend is not even on their radar and they don't do SPL either. Even the entry level components sound awesome.

Is it a bad idea to get the tweeters mounted behind the door panel with the woofer? Kinda wanna avoid holes in my door panel if possible.

Also it seems like nobody in real life has ever heard of CDT yet they're all over this forum

Some people install the tweeters behind the grille if there's room next to the woofer after taking out an oval speaker and replacing it with a smaller speaker. Coaxials have the mid with the tweeter behind the door panel and that can sound great.
