Speakers to pair with this amp?

The amp I have is a JBL GTO752

JBL GTO752 (GTO-752) 220W RMS 2-Channel Grand Touring Amplifier

I had a pair of Massive Audio VK6's, that I never ended up using and sold them to some local guy.

I'd like to keep the price below $200. I am also looking for more SQ than SPL, I also hate harsh tweeters. I like my highs to be present and balanced, certain frequencies that are too loud can make me cringe.

I was interested in some Boston Acoutics, but since they are leaving car audio I will shy away from them. Image Dynamics were pretty well regarded awhile back, but how is their product now that one of the founders left the company?

To sum it up: I'm looking for some 6.5'' SQ comps that can handle 75w rms really well.

Ok then, the ID's will still be near the top of my list. I was unsure about CDT's because when I was looking for speakers awhile back they got all kinds of mixed reviews, but now they are getting consistent good reviews.

I was thinking about some Eclipse SC6500, or I would snatch up some Boston's if they ever go for cheap. How are DLS speakers, or low end Morel's?

Eclipse sc6500s get great reviews as well. Boston stuff usually goes for fairly cheap. I think the SR or SC line is most comparable to the comps you're looking at but they are pretty install picky for good midbass until u hit the PRO lines. Low end Morels aka Maximo also get great reviews but a friend of mine got em on a crazy cheap sale and says they're very nice but not worth what they go for now. I doubt I'd spend much for a set of em to be honest. I haven't looked into DLS much lately, so no comment there.

I got my IDs in yesterday and they are solid. I free aired the coaxs and they sound very nice for the price, though, they don't seem to like to be pushed too hard. (200rms, no hi pass) if u keep them in their range they sound great. I only played the mid from the comp set so far and it's solid. I'll be able to give a better review once I get em installed but they way things look as of now, idk when that'll be exactly. I'll see if I can get the whole comp set hooked up in the house some time tonite or tomorrow. So far, I'd say I'm pretty happy with my purchase.
