im trying to decide if i will like driving manual for everday, there are a good bit of times where i want to drive a manual, but im not sure about the other times, i can drive a manual, not the best yet, but i can drive one

ive thought about renting a car and driving it for a few days, but i cant find any manual cars to rent

any input on daily driving with a manual

When my GA was running I drove it everyday, it has a 5 speed transaxle. GREAT for daily, and I got better acceleration, and sometimes better gas mileage with it. If you can't drive one the best yet, I'd rent one, and get better at it before I would get one for daily. There's a lot of advantages with driving a manual, better passing, more acceleration, SOMETIMES better gas mileage. There's also a lot of downfalls to driving daily, riding the clutch while in heavy traffic, having to replace the clutch if it wears out, downshifting a gear when you're wanting to shift up, if it's a 4 wheel drive, and you go offroad a bit, you'll have to ride the clutch a lot harder than normal, have the chance of you not riding the clutch the best and it dying while you're in the mud... Several pros and cons about driving a manual. I personally like them, but then again, I like automatics at the same time.

another advantage ofa mt, it is a proven fact that they last longer than at's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I like manual better, it really depends on how much you like driving them.. I feel like I have a little more control of the car with a stick. I drove for a few years into downtown boston in rush hour for a long time and it never really bothered me.

well specifically the car is going to be a EVO if i get one, so no off roading

driving is mostly either a highway or a backroad for a tollbridge with alot of turns, i go from house to college and only time im in traffic is from college to work for like 5 mins

i think i would enjoy it more, i just need to mess around on stopping at a lot of lights and such and hills

Only time its not fun is if u have a upgraded clutch and bumper to bumper traffic....no feathering....one benefit ur left calve will be hugeeee...if thats a benefit ha

I miss my Civic 5sp...they are soooooo much more fun that autos its not even funny

Once you get the hang of driving manual, you'll feel like you are on autopilot. I used to be a little edgy about having to drive a manual to school in the morning and other shit like that, but I don't even think about it anymore.

i gotta add to this

im from NJ so traffic is always fun and my first two cars i owned were auto... but i always felt like when i was driving that i wanted a stick - had my hand resting on the auto lol

the car i just bought is a manual and i dont see myself going back to auto anytime soon

ppl always tell me how much they **** in traffic - but honestly its not that bad.. and once you get the hang of it you dont even think about it anymore - plus with a stick you can make any slow *** car seem slightly fast and a fast one faster )
