Maintenance? Bought a car....

So I got a pretty good deal on a car. However, it had been sitting in this guy's back yard for a couple years. Jumped it and it started right up and runs fine. I am just curious of what type of maintenance I should do to it since it sat for long.

Just a tune-up/ oil change or anything more specific I should look into?

Car make and model would help. When I get a new car, I go through it. Brakes (if needed), Oil change, air filter, distributor cap (if it has a distributor, I buy old cars) rotor, spark plugs, spark plug wires, flush coolant, flush power steering, flush transmission. Anything after that, just fix when it goes bad.

How bout some freakin information dude, what kinda freakin car, carbed, fuel injected, 2wd, auto, 4wd.......

And yes, no matter what new fluids, get the old gas out, new gas, new oil are a must. Probly a lot more when you give some info....

i think the most important would be oil. i wouldnt have even started it without changing the oil since its been sitting so long. fuel is another very important thing.

rubber parts is also another thing to look carefully at. hoses, tires. rubber will dry out and crack if its not in use.

I would change the oil, Drain old gas out and put new in. Check sparkplugs and basically try and go over the whole car visually. give it a wash, clay bar and a fresh coat of wax, and it should look flawless.
