installing crossovers for cdt's.

i installed a cdt component set in my 2k2 maxima. it seems as though the crossovers are behind the h/u and i have not installed my h/u yet. should i install t he xovers cdt gave me, or just leave the ones in there now? whats the advantage if there is any if installing the cdt xovers?

I would try to run new speaker wire to the lacations you are putting the CDT's at or find someway to send one of the wire from the factory c/o a full bandwidth signal (little computer terminology there hehe) taking note of which one will be carrying the full signal and use the CDT crossovers. The crossovers that come with the comps are made for that particualar model of comps and anything else with a different slope or a different c/o frequency wouldnt sound as good as what CDT includes with thier comps.

well i used the stock speaker wire and it sounds fine. when i install the crossovers, what is a good setting for them?

Umm im not quite getting what your saying about what would be a good setting for them. You cant change the c/o frequency for them as in the c/o's for the comps. Its fixed and there is no way to change it.

i dont have them handy for me, but dont they have a +3, -3 setting?

Thats for the tweeters. That adjusts the tweeter level as in how loud you want it, -3 and it will be 3dbs less as loud, =3 and it will go 3dbs louder.

yeah thats what i figured. so what should i keep it at? the ywill be run off a pioneer 8500 mp.

I cant tell you where to put them, all I can tell you is to leave them at the 0 mark and then set the h/u where you want it and if you think they are too harsh, turn them down and if you dont think theyre enough, turn them up.
