Magnum D2 Sealed Box differences?

1.5 is all you need for the Claw Magnum's. Anything over that is just a waste of space.
O really? They said that the bigger the smoother it would be, but I'mm looking for max punch. So should I go smaller or stick with the 1.5? Thanks

the Mags definitely don't need more than 1.5cu ft sealed. I tried mine in a 2cu ft box and didn't like it.

Mag is quite good in a 1.5, maybe 1.58 i think is what my final box volume was. O and Nick i'll be calling soon for a 15.

Check out the Qtc numbers if you doubt me. 1.5 is PLENTY for a claw Magnum (BTW: claw Mag's were 12" only, so this obviously does not apply to 15" sizes because they never existed). The Qtc is below a .707 in anything larger than 0.7 cubic feet, which you will have a hard time fitting the driver in an enclosure that size. Sound-wise, 1.2 to 1.5 cubic feet is just right for a claw Magnum. The claw Magnum's are a good sub in the own right but the new Mag's in 1 cube beat the claw Magnum's in 1.5. Just don't put your claw's in anything below 1 cube or above 2 cubes and you'll be fine.

Alter - Hit me up for that 15" when you're ready. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

What kinda music do u listen to?
I listen to a broad range of music. You name it I most likely listen to it. I tend to listen to metal more than anything though. Rap core as well. What I need in a sub is great bass when I'm bumping rap, and clean bass when I'm banging to Cradle of Filth, (or any other metal group I like) then later on when Fleetwood Mac is playing...(you get the idea)

In my experience so far (300 wRMS/ driver) the Mags are perfect for that.

x2

Anything from 300-1000rms will sound great. I personally like mine in 1.5ish cubes sealed with 600rms. On occation I set the gain to get the full 1kw.

300 watts is the perfect amout for SQ oriented applications.

They can get loud too. Mine mesured 136.7db at 36hz in 1.7 sealed with 300rms.
