i am thinking of buying a 15" d2 but first want to know if it can be wired to 1 ohm and will it be ok to run the sub at 1200w daily at 1 ohm.

yes i have the mag 15. We are running it with a 1200D all day long. Plays perfectly

what kind of box should i go with for the 15" sealed? ported? what size?

I ordered mine and have a 4.3 cu.ft. ported box w/ 2 4" ports. Ported or sealed is up to your preferance (and size limitations), I think the recommendations are 2 cu.ft. sealed, and 4 cu.ft. ported.
