The Mag has me intrigued due to it's compact size and reasonable price. But if I can't get an idea if it's going to suit my particular needs because you aren't releasing basic info like T/S parameters.....I'll probably just look elsewhere.......

Joking aside, I can understand why the hesitation in releasing parameters before actually receiving the bulk shipment. Given the fact that SI is really no different than Mach 5, special consideration to confirmation of TS parameters is in order.

Of course, I cannot speak for SI, but this would make sense...

So far, you're the only one that is really adamant about T/S's. We have verified the T/S's over and over again with multiple samples (prototypes and random units off the production line). T/S's are right on the money. And yes, I am taking the "trust us" route to begin with. Like I said, T/S's will be released later.

SI the same as Mach5? I don't really think so. The way we design and build our products is completely different than the way you do...and our products couldn't be any more different from one another. If the Thiele/Small parameters have been verified over and over again and are right on the money, then what are you worried about?

"Trust us" just doesn't work (for SI or any other entity). A company whose product is presumably so immersed in the science of audio shouldn't be afraid to share the data on which it is designed.

ya. thats true. hes a decent guy with great prices on decent cheap speakers. and he calls em that. you ride your name, make a cheap product and proclaim it not cheap. big difference. one calls a pig a pig, and the other calls a pig a princess. but you do both make speakers.

Probably because thus far I'm one of the few interested parties who's not willing to buy a product based on internet hype and without actual knowledge of what I'm purchasing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif That and I need to be able to determine for myself (yes, I'm a big boy and can make those decisions myself) if the driver will suit my needs.

i also feel uncomfortable buying speakers without T/s parameters. I know that paper doesn't always translate into performance, SQ, etc, but i do like looking at them and understanding strengths and weaknesses.

i also was taken back a little at your response to Mrogowski who was trying to identify with you and actually defend your position. I have heard almost nothing bad at all about Mach 5, and i would say that they are a fine company.

I don't think Nick meant to be insulting to Mrogowski. He just responded to the guy's claim that M5 and SI are basically the same. I think he just misunderstood Mrogowski's comment, which I think was based more on the fact that both are small, independent companies with fairly limited product lines (although M5's line is growing pretty steadily), and therefore have to be more thorough before giving out information.

IDK maybe I missed the point, but Nick doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would purposely disrespect another vendor.

Although, I agree that specs should be released if they have been confirmed on multiple drivers. I don't know enough about woofers to judge based on tech info, but it seems that a large portion of this forum's SQ guys are. You should at least be willing to provide specs to those who specifically ask for them, even if that means just sending them a personal e-mail.
