Mag v4 Production complete

I don't think we need to make things so personal. When you do, you might lose sight of what we are really talking about: the product. And the more personal you make it, the less likely you are to receive the answers you're looking for.

Anyways, I will continue to reserve judgment until I know more.

I do. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You keep thinking that, if you feel it is correct in your mind //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You are correct. So much for being nice with other vendors...

Your arrogance is getting the better of you Nick. You might want to tone things down a bit.
I personally didn't think his post was arrogant, and knowing both parties and how they design things, I agree with Nick. The way he's doing thing is quite a bit different than the way you do it mark. Both of you may get samples from a buildhouse, proof them, revise them, and eventually start production, but how you get those samples differs quite a bit, unless you've changed things since the last time we talked that is mark.

Maybe you misunderstood what he meant, or maybe I'm way off base. who knows I really don't think there is a reason why we can't get along tho //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

all your post are informative or have a direction

anyway, I to myself am still wondering why keep the T/S a "secret"? a speaker isnt everything on paper, but as stated by Squeak, some of us like to know what we are purchasing before we do....

That said to the best of luck Nick with your product/s coming out, and hopefully will get a chance soon to try one in my g/f's ride.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Personally I don't know why t/s's are needed right now. After all there weren't t/s specs released for the RE MT ever, nor do i think DD's t/s specs are anything close to real world ( actually I know this becuase ive tested dd subs before )

personally I would rather listen to a driver than look and see how it models in BBP to see how it will sound, and corrupt what i would hear.

example: BBP says a driver drops off at 40hz, your already expecting that 40hz dropoff and in your mind you dont even listen to what your ears hear, but go on what you already "know" from the BBP model.

I understand where you are going and what you are saying.

As I stated I know the t/s's arent everything and not what makes the speaker what it is. It does however help some compare woofers, and decide whether a woofer is for them, bc a lot of us dont have the convenience like yourself and others to play with a woofer b4 its released, or b4 purchasing.

That is where I questioned not releasing t/s....

from what I have gathered they will or will not be released b4 being able to pre-order(sorry its late:crap:)?

I have no clue when they will be released. And i really have no idea what they are LOL, I think FS is below 30hz if that helps lol.

I guess I've never really been a specs kinda guy. and LOL at the getting to play with it before hand. I must say it is pretty convient but after a while it just gets old , hence why i dont do it anymore lol

yea I wish I had the convenience:(, ofcourse I'm not that far.....

I am not looking for me, just my girl in the future and will prolly end up going with the BM which will hopefully be out by then:inlove:

I would put one in my girls car but she is so attached to her current setup i dont see it happening. I may be able to talk her into a BM once she sees my bm in the spare tire well.

If people don't understand what Thiele/Small parameters are and what they mean, then that is their own fault. At the absolute very least, T/S parameters published by the manufacturer mean the end-user can measure their own drivers to verify the company maintains reasonable quality control.

Of course, Thiele/Small parameters are much more useful than just that. If they weren't, then people like Nick wouldn't need to verify anything; they wouldn't need to set target parameters for their buildhouse to engineer and build to. Whether DD or RE or any company chooses to publish them or not is irrelevant.

If anything, these companies should do a better job of explaining how T/S parameters may (or may not) be relevant to the customer rather than saying "No, you're too dumb to know anything outside of what we tell you to do". I realize this is not Nick's intended message, but it is the implication of anyone who takes such an approach.

Even after seeing the BM she thinks the same>? After reading reviews and such I introduced it to my girl and thought it was "pretty", which I guess is all that she would know about the sub anyway...

BTW what is your girl running?

I agree with all of this... of course ppl who dont understand the t/s parameters dont take any of that such into consideration, just the hype of the product and hear say.

for some the t/s explains a lot about the speaker itself and helps those that are on the fence narrowing it down between that and 3 others or so.

the t/s helps me a good bit, but I too am still learning a lot ab this and probly dont know the full in depth that some like yourself do about what exactly to a full scale the t/s parameters can tell about a speaker.

Man, talk about people being testy on here! My comment about Mach5 and SI being the same was just what I said. I don't think so. Our products couldn't be more different, which means that our companies are not the same. And I do believe that we design things a little differently. I spend more time in FEM (FEA) than I care to admit. Maybe you do too. I could way off though. I wasn't being egotistical at all - just stating that we don't have the exact same company on numerous accounts. Settle down a little bit guys (Mark, 02parkave).

And I don't usually address him, but 02parkave - do you know how much our "cheap" products cost us? If you do, please let me know. Knowing how much all the machining costs, how the basket is 4x the cost of a normal 12 spoke, that our spiral-cut aluminum formers are 2x the cost, the anodizing that goes on before the pole gets diamond CNC'd down, and all other tooling involved with the soft and hard parts, you obviously have a good idea about our cost, right? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

And even though a lot of people on here seem to think that I'm under the impression that the forum members are too "dumb" to comprehend the T/S's, that's not the case at all. I would like to see what people think about the subwoofer before pre-judging it by its T/S's. Nick Wright does this every single time he releases his woofers. Speaking of which, are they up for his entire line of woofers yet?
