Made a tough decision today.

Thursday I am going to Denton to sign paperwork for flight instruction. This time its an accredited one. (some may remember I was going though private instruction around a year ago, only to find my instructor was an alcoholic.)

I will be $65k+ in debt once done. My long term plan is to get certified with a professional helicopter license. Once I have 800 to 1k hours I plan to try and find a job at a new station or med flight.

Now, my tough decision is what to do with my job. I currently work ~50 hours a week. Quarter end and year end I am up to ~75-80 hours a week. I guess I will be broke and try to do what I really want to do, instead of sitting in a mediocre corporate america cubicle for the rest of my life.

Wish me luck bishes...

Jntar, could you pm me with details!? I was seriously considering trying to go for a helicopter pilot career but couldn't find out exactly what I needed to get into the industry.

best of luck, I spent 3 hrs deciding whether or not to butter toast with my breakfast this morning.
I hope you have fun either way.
hahah good shit made me laugh:laugh:

Best of luck to you, man!

It was tough for me trying to find a good flight/aviation school out of HS around here.

My plan was to do the exact same: go private pilot, then get my rotary license. unfortunately, I could in no way accept the $35K per year cost since I was looking at schools that were incorporating a college BA curriculum.

Maybe some day I'll go to one of the regional airports and inquire about lessons. There's a very light heli manufacturer at one of them. I should see if they offer any lessons.

65,000 for lessons and classes/instructors?
Minimum is the following. These are minimum //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif Im going to need around 800 to 1,000 hours to get a decent job.
