Im really diggin the mj 18, lots of people like the sq and how it'll get pretty loud. i like the price, and how its doesn't need a crazy amount of power. I want to run at least 2, possibly 3, off an SAZ 2000d.

i drive a silverado ext, no back seat, so plenty of space.

never built a box before, and im not pos on how big to make it for the 2, and what to tune it to.

btw, i was thinkin subs forward, port up, i think that sounds good (subs forward) but i think id really like subs up - port up, would that be good for a truck?

thanks

kyle

Subs/port up will cause cancellation, and you'll notice it louder with the windows down or door open. I ran a pair of the original MJ-18's in a 9ft^3 box tuned to 33hz with subs forward and port up...sounded great and no noticable cancellation. I believe the new ones require a little more space, so 10ft^3 tuned to 30-35hz should work well.

What truck are you working with?

silverado ext cab, no back seat. word, i had read somthing about how it makes a big difference, (obviously lol) just never knew why (port/sub facing)

the only way you car in 2 of those off a 3000d is if you run the amp at .5 ohm which voids warranty and judging by your questions i doubt you have the electrical to back it up (bigger alt, batteries, etc.) or run it at 2 ohm which kind of defeats the purpose of buying it in the first place as it will put out like 1500w

30-35 tuning - the higher tuned, the louder the higher notes? and same for lower tuning? just depends on what i want to hear more of?

and tuning, i would just lengthen or shorten the port? ( yup new to box building)

yeah i don't want to upgrade the shit out of my elec. i want to avoid a new alt and more that 2 big *** batts.

my truck is 10 years old so id rather keep it simpler. but obviously i wouldn't mind putting in a second battery and seeing where im at from there. i want to keep it at about 1.2k total watts for the whole system.

1k subs and about 240 watts for mid's/highs

i thought that was alright power?

mostly cause i want the head room. i don't want to push amp/subs to the limit or past.

and if i outgrow them and want to go smaller, or louder or better sq, ill have the option
