i have a hk797 2 ch amp. my problem is finding out what the real rms is when i use a 4ohm mono load. these r the specs of it.

800w peak power

200 rms per ch @4ohm

300 rms per ch @ 2 ohm

800 rms mono @ 4 ohm

k here's the link of my amp

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_2684.html

sum ppl tell me that at 4ohm mono mode its 800 watt and some say its 800 rms...

so i really dont know what my amp really is...i wanna know what u guys think

yup that amp isnt drastically rated goofy it might only do 597 watts or 700 but there is very little difference in that power range not even humanly noticeable as far as power goes

Yeah as audiolife said it's not horribly overrated but it is. The larger the MA amp you get the more overrated they are. I've seen a 4400watt ma audio amp only do 2200. Then again they are more built for 17v.

oh alrite...thanks for that info...do u know a sub that would go good with this? not too expensive but worth the money?

i would do oz or image dynamics, ascendant soundsplinter somewhere down those lines would be a pretty safe bet
u know where i can buy these? and what would u choose in terms of prices since i dont want to pay a lot..thanks
