MA AUDIO HK4000D or Autotek Mean Machine MM4000.1D

BIG...

I just bought this amp last week. From what i hear it is very effecient. ANd you are correct when saying "it is like having two amps in one".

IT IS stable @ 1ohm, people even run/burp these @ .5ohms on killer charging. The thing is beautiful, im my opinion one of the better looking large amps out there.

The MA is new and $550 the Autotek is a factory refurb for about $500
where are u getting the refurb amp to buy i want one to //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

i assume its stable @ .5 ohm x 2 not once its bridged

although it would be nice to burb it at .5 x1 channel //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

.5 mono would be a long shot. The guy that owned my old amp burped it at .7ohm mono. But also had lots of batts

well, i got it a few weeks ago, just got it hooked up this weekend along with a 200 amp alt and another red top and it sounded great......for 30 minutes! now its getting sent back for warrenty. went into protect mode and hasnt worked since //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

uh oh... sucks man sorry

what type of voltage were you getting back there? also check it out with a multimeter first, make sure you're getting good voltage, even if you aren't getting any dimming or other symptoms. 9 times out of 10, big, current hungry amps like that blow up because your vehicle can't provide enough current.

you did do the big 3 right?

I sent that amp into protect once. but when i turned the car off and then back on it was fine.

I agree with Cochese. also check your ohm load //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
