MA audio hk1998 for 12" L7 2ohm?

Just picked up a 12" kicker L7 2ohm and realized my old jbl gto601.1 isn't enough for it.

i'm pretty much clueless about a lot of the audio brands and was wondering if MA audio makes decent amps. I'm wanting to push at least 700w rms to my L7 but not really wanting to spend over $400. I'd just like a decent quality amp that will feed my sub the power it wants and not crap out on me in a year. I was also looking at the mtx 1000xd.

as far as my electrical system goes i've got an optima yellow top, stock alternator (04 subaru wrx), and a tsunami 2 farad cap

the ma audio m1889i is rated at 800@2ohm but its barely doing 300watt imo.

Don't know about the one you're talking about but i would avoid ma audio

yeah ma is pretty sad on their ratings i can sell you a 1210d and you can push 1200 to the sub ( we run them on 1300 rms using a 2010d amp daily.) its 225 shipped bnib 1 yr warranty //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

also in case you want to add a 2nd sub I can do the 2010d amp for 330 shipped it will do 650 rms at 4 ohm to that sub and you can add a 2nd sub l8er on if you want.

it ships today by 3pm i will send you the fedex tracking info, hopefully it will only take 3 days to get to you. i am in colorado but it ships from oakland at the warehouse and my shop orders take 3 days usually. so if not saturday it will arrive by monday i expect.

dextermoped is local to me and after he heard my wifes hifonics powered minivan with a setup that is well over 3 yrs old he was hooked as well. Regardless of what the haters say, the amp and subs are very reliable, and do rated power all day long with good stable electrical just like any other good amp will do. and their subs will definatelt take at least 25-50% or more than they are rated at. my wifes minvan has 2 12's getting 1000 rms each and they are rated at 600 rms hmmmmm still pounding hard and clean too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I had the Hk1997 models. They were a year younger then the hk1998. Nice amps did some good power as well. Usaci Rated them at 1000 watts at 4 ohms when specs said 600rms. So now the 1998 amps can go down to one ohm. I would shoot over to usaci forum and ask what they rate them at. I bet a good bit. I ran the 1997 models at 1ohm as well with no problem did have a good eletrical to back them up though.

I would of said buy it but Im to late. I had my hk1997 for over 3 years before I sold them.
