I am looking to pick this up to run at 2 ohms...

You guys think this is a good deal? How may watts @ 2 ohms can i expect to get out of it with my battery putting out about 13.5 volts? And would this tax my stock system. I have a 120A alt.

Just mainly wanting to know if I can expect some good results with this amp connected to 2 PG Rsd12's. thanks all. You guys have really helped me out lately.

It would prob push those RSD's just fine. They're "ok" amps....they're an Anaba group product which is the same motherboards as Visonik and a couple of other mid grade brands that I cant remember at the moment. They are all notoriously current hogs, so do the big three at the least if not plan for a extra battery later on. It will put out about 1000 watts at 12ish volts....you wont stay at 13.5 long enough to make any difference though. I also suggest putting a relay on the remote wire, and supply the large amperage lead (I cant remember the designation number on a bosch for it, sorry) with a power lead straight from the battery. HK motherboards are notorious for shutting down when the remote power lead goes below 11 volts.

The hk1998 is a nice amp and should get the job done. Like all MA amps it pulls current. I know someone running one now and it does produce as long as it dosen't get hot.

I currently run 1 Rsd12 off of a 2 channel Profile AP1000 and i get a little headlight dimming. With this amp being a current hog but still being a d class mono, would you still it would make the dimming twice as because it is about twice the power?

im not sure how much current the profiles pull but your dimming will increase if the MA amp pulls more. as long as you stay steady or at least above 11.4 the amp should be fine. i would also do the big three as suggested above and or add a cap/battery/extra power supply to reduce strain of alternator.

I had two of them hk1998 I loved them. Even ran them at 1 ohm all day long. I never had a problem with them running hot. Or pulling to much current. Your not doing any spl comps are ya. I had two batts when I was running mine. I havent ever had that problem with the voltage thing remote turn on going below 11 volts burning boards. And I have many ma audio amps....Two Hk4000d not modded running .7 18volt plus. Ran thoses two hk1998 for a long time as well. Even have a ma 498i four channle amp. And the old HC4002 amp they had back in the day. In my jeep still kicking.

u are using an extra power source as we recommend. i hope u didnt show a voltage drop with an extra battery

I dont think all of there amps are that much current hogs. I had two small batts when I was running my hk1998's. One in the front one in the back thats it. I just never belive in caps. Running them Hk1998 at one ohm never seen the voltage go below 13 volts.

And heck usaci rates them at 1000 watts at 4 ohms. Specs on amp says 600 watts.
