As the past post I posted I explained my speaker setup situation...being 2- 12 L's 2 ohm dvc subs..

I want to knwo if it will be safe to run this amp at .5 ohms with a 4 guage wire and no other electical add ons...

My car always sits at about 14 volts on average being a small car I guess..

Can I run this amp at .5 ohms on a reg with this setup and keep the gains almost off...rememebr My car averages a 14 volt charge ona reg?

i seriously doubt it. my saz-1500 is running at 2 ohm with an added battery in the trunk and i still get minor headlight dimming. so when you drop yours down to half an ohm your going to be demanding higher current from the electricl system. also just because you see 14v at idle doesnt mean youll see that when your playing music. take a dmm to the amp while idle and measure the reading. then start playing some music pretty loud and then measure your voltage. its not gonna be bo where near 14v i bet.

you could, but i could bet it won't last long. I suggest doing the big 3, upgrading your alt and get atleast 1 secondary battery. and definitely upgrade to 0ga wiring. there's no sense trying it with your electrical how it is, it may work but you definitely won't be getting full potential out of that amp.

just my .02 cents

No, it's not a good idea and your charge will absolutely not hold at 14 volts with an SAZ-1500D at 1/2 ohm with stock electrical -- I guarantee that. I would be willing to bet it will drop to 11.5 volts or less on challenging material.

This is why it is no longer warrantied at 1/2 ohm... when people want to do this sort of thing.

OK, How about this then.....

Get 2 12 l's 4 ohm speakers and wire them together to make 1 ohm.....

keep everything electrical stock and keep 4 guage wiring...

Will this be safe safe safe.....

That will work, however, 4 awg wire is not optimal for any true 1500 watt amp. The SAZ-1500D is stronger than alot of 1500-watt amps on the market and I have melted a cheap 4 AWG fuse holder with one of them due to their ability to produce more than 1500 watts and draw more current respectively.

In short... yes, it will be safe but not optimal to get the most from your amp.

I don't understand your reluctance to feed that nice amp with the electrical it needs. Upgrade your wiring and do the BIG 3 and be done with it.

If you want to run at .5ohm, then get a 2nd batt and consider an HO alt.

You don't by a hi-perf car and put 87 octane in it, so you can't use the full potential it has. At least I don't....
