I haven't bought subs yet nor am I set on running a 5 ch amp. Its just that my truck is brand new and I am really hesitant to mess with I want to keep it clean, efficient, and neat. So this system will be for a 2013 f 150 supercab.(extended cab) From all my own research it seems that the fox acoustics dual 10" sealed box is gonna be my best bet as far as mass produced enclosures go. the fox box has a mounting depth of 6" and is sealed with a volume of 0.65 cuft3. I am interested in these amps because they have some of the highest output for the sub channel from my research, I want around 800watts RMS for my subs. How close should my subs be to their recommended enclosure volume because so far I have crossed off all subs whos recommended enclosure volumes who do not match up with the fox box specs. Is there a rule of thumb to go by lets say if your sealed box is smaller than recommended you need a more powerful amp than if the volume of the box was bigger.
Ideally I would be able to run 2-12"s in a ported boxas I listen to rap/hip hop 98% of the time, but I just dont have the room. Under my backseat i have a height of 6-7" in the front and it tapers down to like 4" in the back. I have about 14" from the start of the back seat to the back of the cab, and about 36"+ wide, and Sorry if I got a little off topic and thanks to all who reply. I tried to paste a link to the page for that fox box for reference but I'm at work and the computer wont let me.
