u should never be able to hear lyrics thru a sub, set ur crossover lower, way lower

Yes you can, but, you dont want to.

Look at your amp, you probably have it on HPF(High Pass Filter) or some kind of filter that allows everything to come through it. Switch this to LPF(Low Pass Filter).

It also depends on the artist. Some of them may be deep enough to be heard.

well my sub is just hooked up to my home stero cuz its outta my car for a week, does it hurt the sub it also is not getting very much power
