i am hooking back up my stock head unit (amfm radio) to my isuzu hombre and for whatever reason i can't get power to it... the power wire is orange, ground is black.. these are the only two wires i hooked up as of yet to see if it has power... and it doesn't... any ideas??? I did see some smoke at one point, possibly from the stereo, but not sure... let me know.. thanks

The harness should have 3 powered leads and a ground

Constant

Switched ign.

Illumination/dimmer

and a ground.

Both constant and switched need to be connected in order to work.

The smoke sounds bad, check for any blown fuses.

ok, i didn't have the switched ign connected, the smoke was because my power n ground touch for a sec (i don't have fingers on my left hand, wiring gets rough but i manage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif)

also, i have 2 yellows and 2 grays...one yellow is switched ign... they are the same shade of colors as well, how would i go about figuring out which is which without screwing something up?

They have wiring diagrams for most cars, might help you out.
