Lowering Tuning of a Box

I already built a box to the specs on RE's webpage..

Anyways, it should be tuned to 35. Is there a way I can just add a small piece of MDF and lower the tuning to 29-32 Hz? I know all you have to do is extend the port (at least that's what I believe I read) but the question is how much?

you need to use a port calculator.

you can do this as long as you know your true box volume. Remember that adding to the port decreases the overall net box volume etc

cut down the port area, keep the tuning length the same.

-or-

'extend' the port, but it's gonna be hella long, sacrifice alotta vB.
