Lowering tuning frequency

Finally finished my sub box for my single cab truck. Its tuned to around 33hz, sounds incredible for 2 little subs. I was wondering if I tune it lower will it be any major difference to maybe around 30hz?

They are 2 8" soundqubed hds208, it's my first sub box I've built with an aero port, normally do sealed or slot port.

it'll be less loud overall but you'll be louder at lower notes, hit lower and sacrifice some output on the higher bass frequencies..

if it were me I would leave it at 33, I think between 32 - 36hz is a good range for those 8's.

So is 33hz good or maybe go a little higher say about 35hz?

i would try 35hz, whatever music you normally listen to, pick 3 or 4 songs of different types of music you like and listen to the same songs tuned both ways and see which way you like it best.

you tune on what you like to listen too. If you like rap and rebassed music like decaf then you can go 28-31hz tuning. 32-35hz is a happy medium that generally plays everything decently. If you are in to rock, edm, metal, old school hip hop, 36-40hz will give you stronger bass response in those genres but will sacrifice some lows. If you want all out spl box, anything above 42hz will get loud but will sound like a one note wonder unless you really reduce the port area, it will be harder for you to play stuff under 40 hz loudly too.

But since you can't have both, are you currently more satisfied with the low or high hz performance; want it louder, or lower? At least with aeroports its simple change tuning, if you have enough room to extend them and it looks like you have plenty lol. How many cubes is that? Word around town is those drivers do better in larger volumes, that looks like plenty.

Like others said, biggest factor is what music you listen to.
