Lower voltage amps

I thought I was doomed to just using jl audio amps. I was gonna buy 2 1200/1s and for the same price I can get a 5 or 6k amp. This reopens up the gear I can use. Is there a better between the brands?

Any decent car amplifier will operate at 12V or less. The manual should have a line under specifications that shows the input voltage range before protection comes on.

That's what I was thinking. 12-13 should be fine for about anything. The cheaper amps with less regulation will make quite a bit less power though.

Buddy of mine told me Ampere audio rates 12 volts and he found me a 3800 for 500. Think I'm gonna bite the bullet

It also lowers the amps efficiency and raises the current draw.

NVX X Series and V series are pretty darn good for the money all the way around.

It confuses people who don't understand electronics and so they repeat it. I know you know better and i hope new people can learn correctly.

I would clean the paint off that location and use two washers to sandwhich the ground wire to secure a solid connection and use a bolt rather than...
