Low volume using AUX

My son has an 07 Cobalt. When using the AUX input on the radio the volume isn't too bad with his iPod touch, however when using some of the smaller mp3 players (the type with just 1 AAA battery) the volume is just too low. You have to set the player to full volume and really crank the volume on the radio. Not really a problem until you unplug and get blasted out of the car.

I know this has probably been beaten to death, but I didn't seem to find any specific recommendations. I know you can always get a headphone amp, anyone have a specific one they like.

Thanks.

well you hit it on the head, the small mp3 player has little to no signal ouput coming from the headphone jack, so yes you will have to blast everything to get good noise. Why would you buy a headphone amp when you can just buy a small ipod or something?

I've had a similar problem but it was just not worth the hassle.
