I'm just fitting a new (to me!) headunit with an external amp and I'm having touble with the amplifier not coming on when the headunit does - I've checked the voltage into the headunit and its approx 12.13v, the voltage out of the remote point on the headunit is only 4v... shouldn't it be 12v also ?

I've replaced the remote lead and the amp still doesn't come on.

Is there anything I could do like hookup some sort of relay to give me 12v to turn on the amp when the headunit comes on, as its not in warranty so can't get it repaired (if it is actually a fault....)

Any help appreciated!!
