Low power subs box?

<-- Yes, that's me.
Using some limited space, I'll be building a box for some shallow mount subs, with a 3.5" mount depth. Since I don't have really any more than a bit over 5" total, will it make much of a difference to use thinner wood? As in, half inch MDF, rather than three fourths?

What size subs and how much power?

I have 1/2" MDF because of space restrictions for my box for two 18's and it doesn't flex except the baffle some (which I will be taking care of), but it's braced too so...

for low power applications 1/2" should be fine

They're 10's, running on about 200-300 RMS power each. Boxes would be separate from each other, too. Sounds like it'd be fine then.
