low excursion

I was reading a manual on Infinty speakers and it says since they are high excursion that a sealed box is now recommended cause it will create an infinit-baffle which will probably blow the speakers.

It seems like everytime I decide one what subs to get I read something that discourages me. It really sucks.

So, back to the drawing board... Does anyone know of an LOW EXCURSION subs for a sealed box that have great SQ?

it said something about Vas... what's that? It said that the spring effect with in the sealed box will cause the cone two bounce in and out continuously...

Vas is the volume of air that has the same compliance as the speaker's suspension. Stiff speakers have lower Vas and tend to use small enclosures. Speakers with loose suspension have a higher Vas and use larger enclosures. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

to be honest I have never heard of a low excursion sub woofer, some have lower excursions than others due to design, usually the more SQ designd into the sub the less the excursion, but not in all cases
