loudness?

my friend has an xplod deck 50x4 peak, and some decent pioneer speakers and i have my pioneer deh-1400 HU 45x4 peak, with infinity ref. 552i speakers and his is WAYY louder than mine... is there a reason for this??

what i can think of:

1)the obvious 50x4 vs 45x4.

2)infinity speakers are built for clarity, not loudness.

YES, they could easily be out of phase, i was in such a hurry, i didnt even look at the polarity, could that be my problem???

well if they were out of phase it would cause some cancelation which would = less sound
