I'm on a budget and definately dont have enough for the 1501d. Im just wondering how much of a difference there is between the 2 woofers and whether or not its worth all the extra money?

you can pick up up something of that nature in good shape for under $250, how much you gonna spend on an amp? From what I hear about the crappy lowend of the sx, I'll take the 9500 for a dd.

if its money youre worried about get a sx 15. its not a bad sub, and its cheap to run. a 1000 watt monoblock will run you like 150ish

Anyone had any problems with the SX? (I also heard about tinsel slaps or something)?

I think that is the problem with XXXs not SXs.

9500 has to be run at 2 ohms though....which makes the amp more expensive to get that kinda power @ 2 ohms...as compared to the SX which is run @ 1 ohm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If you look you can find a good amount of amps to give ya 1kw @ 2 ohms for around $200-250

You could also consider the single 4 ohm model and this amplifier http://ikesound.com/product-product_id/2465 . Just puttin that out there it's a little over powered but with proper gains set you'd be ok.

picked up 2 mtx direct refurb 1000d for $220 ea , picked up some rubicon 1000-2 for refurb for $125 ea. You just need to look //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Not too easy, but finding a tantrum 1200 for $250 is possible.

2 rubicons were just sold on ebay, 2 mtx were sold to my bro and one of my buddies is suppose be buying the last rubicon in a few days. Sorry.
