if u put it in the right 1 boy it is louder and shakes the f#$k out ur car. i had 2hx2's in a sealed incloser off of 600 watts from a mtx amp. i changed it to ported and every thing shakes in the car including my ***! but to awnser ur Q it is much louder. 1nce u switch ull never go with any other box in ur life!

Thanks guys, I am convinced to make the change! Only decision left is what freq. to tune it to? I listen to rap mainly....40hz ok or lower?

in theory its a 3db gain going from sealed to ported but more than three db's can be obtained. For a daily driver box id go lower more like 30-35hz range, that makes that 36 mafia music glow What kinda sub(s) are you looking at??:

yep...once you get above 35 hz or so, youre more toward spl...and thats not a good idea if youre gonna be crankin the volume with music...sine waves would be fine regardless, b/c they only play a single frequency, but after a while, it gets old...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
