louder than rlp

i really dont see any of the subs mentioned in this thread getting much louder than the rl-p's. i think you are making the right decison by tweaking your install rather than getting new equipment. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

BTW, for whoever asked, there is no doubt in my mind that jelly's system already gets insanely loud as do all other rl-p's. My single 15 off 900w is deafening. I canonly imagine what 2 would be like...

Yes.... someone get a rope, we're gonna string him up. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif
j/k //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif no I didnt think you meant that

hahaha, phhhew

what meter did you use? it is insanely loud...but i just have this feeling that there is more....i just need to tweek something. i asked about the meter cause you did 145@45 on the TL IIRC, and i did 151@50 on an older TL....which would be 144-145 on the TL.

so that would make mine and yours about the same

no, mine was done on a current ac. I am proud of my score as I came in about .2 dB behind a 13w7 off a 1000/1 in a highe tuned ported box in a hatchback and beat out a xxs and sexxx in spl boxes. I can't really ask for more. It is really going to be sad to see it all go //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

well in that case....I WOOPED YO @SS!!!! j/k but the ac and the older tl are about the same. but i still believe i've got more potential bottled up somewhere.

i'm still open to suggestions on a box.

Jelly, just a thought for you here. DD audio is now recommending using a standard tuning frequency of 40 Hz instead of 45 Hz. I am here to tell you that I built my competition enclosure using the 45 Hz specification and it completely wanged with music and competition test tones. I would venture to say that if you built your enclosure using the new 40 Hz specification from DD Audio that you would get significantly louder. In my signature it says I did a 152.1. This was done on the Audio Control mic with an enclosure that was done to DD Audio specs (4 cubes net tuned to 45 Hz). Go here http://www.ddaudio.com/dd/caraudio/enclosureInfo/boxSize_hiEff.asp and take a look at their recommendations. I believe that if you tuned to 40 Hz you would still be somewhat musical and at the same time have the potential to get really loud.

id try a set of Qs from doug for the 15"s, i did a 148.1 on the new termlab with my 1 12", and i love my sub we gave it 800 watts from a rockford amp the oldschool one it was awesome. i get my american bass amp intoday, xd1800 modified, so that should be a very nice addition //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Screw sonicFX......... Get them LI's man they have so much SPL potential its not even funny. Talk to NGSM13 he did a 140.5 on the new TL with one LI 12" in his g/f's jeep (not the easiest vehicle to hit high numbers in) tuned to 32hz with a jbl600.1 powering it. I couldn't imagine how loud 2 15's properly installed could get.

hehe, not exactly fair using noah as a point of basis;). All these score's I keep reading and I'm always wondering what mic well the new AC it is:D. Jelly do 5 cuft net tuned to like 38hz you'll be fine.

what is the +'s and -'s to a bandpass?
pros:

More SPL gain at tuning point than ported

con:

typically sound dirty

pain in the ass to unload driver due to it being in the box

large

outside of tuning range + or - 5 to 10 hz you get sloppy mud sound

bandpass box's are typically fart canons.
