Loud single cab systems

how much mounting depth do you have, why not 2 of the new mags? they have a mounting depth of like 5.5 inches and only takes a 1 cubic foot box and takes up to 1000 watts

Im going through the same **** problems right now, i am running four of the original 10w6's off from my sundown 1500 at 3 ohm and it just isnt loud enough for me. The box is 2.2 sealed, and i know i am strapped for space, but my shit just aint loud enough! What is a good SPL sub that is around 5.5 inches deep that i can port the shit out of? I am interested in trying the new mag BM's or the New RE SL line, but if i can get louder with one sub ported ill do it. I installed one 10" L5 in my brothers regular cab silverado and it sounds better (but not louder) than my 4 10's. I WISH I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT AN AVALANCHE!

I would re-wire them with all coils parallel for a .75ohm load. You'll be much happier.

Ive got plenty of power, my gain is a touch over half way. I think ive got too many subs and not enough air space. I need a change though, and i just got it done! lmao

10'' Fi BL is only 6.25'' deep and it has no pole vent so you dont have to allow any room behind the magnet for cooling. You can have it touching the back wall of your box and not run into any problems (told to me by Nick from Fi).

if it is touching the back wall, the box needs braced very good. don't want that panel flexing and vibrating against the magnet. i've made that mistake. it would be beneficial to keep that magnet off the back wall.

That's a very good point, I never thought of it that way. Well you don't need much room behind the magnet is what I should have said.

you didn't listen, wire the subs in parrallel, right now you've got like 1000w of power going to 4 subs if your lucky... wire in parrallel and that 1500 will put out 1600-1800w, more like 400-450 per sub. just try it... at least its free! turn your gain down before you do it tho

ill do it, but if my gain isnt even 3/4 the way up is changing the impedance going to matter? Will running my sundown that low make it heat up at all, because right now it stays cold to the touch. I think i need some help tuning it!

no the saz1500s will run at 0.5 ohms all day with good electrical, .75 won't do any damage, with imp rise you'll be between 1-1.5ohm anyways, but with it wired at 3ohms, your getting maybe 500-600w between the 4 subs, 150w each at most, at 0.75ohm you should be able to get 1500-1600 easy, a theoretical gain of between 4-5db, DEFINATELY noticable

So to get it down to .75 ohms do i just parallel every 6 ohm voice coil together? Ill do it, i just need help with the wire. thanks
