loud sealed 15?

My Rl-p definitely does not lack any output either //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

However, IIRC I've seen posts from Grand Masta referring to the TC2+ (Rl-i) being overmotored and less suited for sealed enclosure.....I think that may be what you are thinking of.

this is the 1st thread GM made a comment about the rl-p's design in..

http://forum.sounddomain.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=11;t=080010#000000

and this is the second one posted recently in referance to the thread here

http://forum.sounddomain.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=11;t=080830#000000

dotn knwo if he posted on CA about it.. i looked for a while but couldnt find his posts..

not that it matters which driver he was referring to.. if youre happy with your driver then thats all that matters.. besides, as i was reading the posts he was referring mainly to the 12.. i think those that commented were running 15s? either way..

Hmmm.....for some reason I thought I remembered those discussions being about the Rl-i. Damn...the older I get, the more the memory goes.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

But, regardless......I'm not sure if GM has ever actually used one or not. Frankly, the specs for the Rl-p are screwy. Go ahead and toss 'er into a box program. The program will spit out a recommended enclosure of something like .55cuft with an F3 of 101hz or something insane. In reality, when actually using the driver, we know this to not be true //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I, and many other, can attest that the driver (despite it's specs) performs quite well in a 1.25-1.5cuft enclosure.

Why the differences? Couldn't tell you to be honest. Maybe the large signal parameters are largely different than the small signal parameters (T/S params), which causes the shift in performance (for the better) when actually in use.

there are a ton of 'supersubs' that have 30mm+ xmax. get a nice 15 that you can send soem good power to and im sure youll get good output
Actually there's a 'ton' that have 25mm or over, but still not many that have 30mm+... only a handful at this point.
In a sealed setup I was concerned about SQ with, Id go Brahma, xxx, IDMax (Oz Matrix Elite), W7, etc..

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif lol thats why you cant hear your sub squeak its ment to be ported lol
Haha...no, that problem was fixed with the new HU. My Rubicon apparently doesn't like low input voltages //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif She'll get down and boogie now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Anyways.....just thought of something else that pertains to this discussion. We ( or I, atleast) am referring to my 12" Rl-p. The 15" Rl-p specs are way different, and actually lend themselves (via the traditional spec analysis approach) to being in a sealed box. High Qts (.447) and low EBP (54)....classic sealed box specs there. And, since this was a post about 15's.....much more applicable to the discussion //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif And you'll get about 26-27mm Xmax out of the 15" Rl-p...which is right up there with the Brahma's and XXX's.

Well its almost right up there with the B and xxx (especially the B). //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif But at that point I doubt the difference would be noticed on anything except a meter.

Different situation......the old Rubi's have a finicky input stage. And I was switching headunits for a totally different reason than output voltage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
