loud sealed 15?

Umm, yeah, file this under the "Trying to Break the Laws of Physics" section...

You drive a Blazer, correct? And you don't have room? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

sigh, i'm trying to be able to hide my stuff! lol, i went sealed because i can fire it down and have room to cover my amp n wires too... and then throw a comforter and spare tire over it and poof, no more suspicious college kids to steal my shit again... I learned my lesson, no bumping near school...

I drive about the most conspicious vehicle out of most people here, have all of my amps and sub box in plain sight through a giant glass window - and for some reason, I didn't get bothered once when I parked on campus //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

If they don't hear you, they don't know to look.

If you want loud sealed, you want the sub with the most displacement (cone area * Xmax).

Well, on 2nd thought; you want the sub that has the most displacement that you can actually power to full potential. Having a 40mm Xmax sub does you no good if you only have enough power to get 'er to move 20mm one way.

But, when using a sealed box, total displacement is the key factor in output.

so, an rlp or an avalanche would do me well?

i heard rl-ps are overmotored and do not do well in sealed setups because of the nature of the driver.. actually didnt we just have a thread about this?

an ava would work well.. and ive talked to somebody who ran one ported and then went sealed and said he was surprised that he didnt lose much spl at all (to his ear anyways)

there are a ton of 'supersubs' that have 30mm+ xmax. get a nice 15 that you can send soem good power to and im sure youll get good output

I have my rl-p in a sealed enclosure and i could not be happier. The sq is top notch and it wangs hard and loud when you turn it up. Ill be building another box soon most likely ported to see how it compares to sealed. Ill write a review or soemthing when the time comes.

That's funny.....my Rl-p sounds fantabulous in a 1.25cuft sealed enclosure //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

im glad all of you are happy with your rl-ps thats just what i was told by grand masta who definately has some knowledge about what hes talkign about.. but im sure any SQ sub will sound good sealed i was referring to output more than anything
