Well I lost my iPhone yesterday. If I call AT&T, are they able to give me the phone's location, since the phone has GPS? Or am I SOL?

There's a defensive app on the iphone that makes it transform similar to a transformer. You have to go to an AT&T store to active it remotely though. Just tell them what happened and it they'll activate it for you.

The gps device will not be tracked by any phone provider. The only way you would be able to find it is an app installed that could track you.

The gps device is mainly there for 911 purposes, but there is no way to activate it remotely without someone picking it up and dialing 911. I'd say you're screwed. You'd better start tracing your steps.

See, I wasn't sure. I know when a buddy got a BlackBerry for AT&T a few years back, he said there was no insurance. But perhaps he was just wrong.
