It has been a very long time since I've dealt with the car audio side of things. Right now I have two 10" Kicker Comps powered by a Kenwood KAC-9105D 1800W Max, 500W RMS amplifier in a 2007 Chevy Silverado Crew cab.

I WANT MORE!

I'm looking to upgrade to two 12" subs and amp if necessary to get a lot of bass for my buck. I'm thinking my budget is somewhere around $500 give or take a couple hundred possibly.

My question to all you experts out there is what is the best sub-woofers I can get that fits my budget, and will they work with the amp that I have now? If not, suggestions for that as well please.

If you need more info or have any questions, let me know. Appreciate the help.

well, your gonna need some beefier subs and a stronger amp with some upgrades to your electrical system because the worst thing you can do is to jam big subs into a small enclosure meant for a tight space. A pair of decent 10s on 2000 watts rms in a ported box would do some work in your truck. Space makes bass

Sub Woofers - SSA STORE Heres a few choices to get you started off to see what "beefier" subs and amps look like. Your best choice would be to look in the classifieds section and get a pair of monsters used for cheap along with a good quality amp.

Is it the newer body style truck or classic style that's more rounded. Because you could get either body style in 2007
It's the classic body style.

I figured I was gonna need some better subs and an amp to match if necessary, but you're saying to stick with 10"s?

What type of amp would you recommend?

I just did a 05 crew cab. A pair if 10s behind the seat it's ok for my daughter bf. but not enought for me I'd do a single 12 in 2^3 back there. On 1500-2000 rms. big 3 agm batt and call it a day

Can you break this down into laymans terms please? lol Also, I don't believe one 12" would be enough bass for me. I'd like to stick to two subs if at all possible.

It would be a lot easier to do if I knew wtf it meant.
Lay mans terms. One 12 in the right sized and ported box will yield better results than a pair of 10s or 12s in the wrong sized box Main issue is there is very little room back there to work with. So unless you modify the rear seat by moving it forward then you'll need to be careful about which subs you go with. You need subs that need very small enclosures the box I built was about 1.5 cubic ft after port and displacement. Which ported is small for most every 10 sub on the market if your running a pair but a single 12. Leaves many options available port to the side doors also with a 4" port
