right now im am considering getting rid of the Eclipse 7200MKII, putting some x-overs in the trunk (for ease of installation with the amp back there) and putting in a DD navi up front.

I never really liked the way single dins look in my car, and also i don't feel that i take full advantage of having an actively tuned system (my xovers havent really changed since i installed everything)

my only worry is how my drivers will work on a xover system

i dont know much about what kinda slopes are in pre made xovers

what do you guys think?

what are the best DD navi systems out currently (eclipse?alpine?pioneer?)

and how will my drivers, 7" Dayton Audio 175's and blau vc100's do x'ed over?

thanks

are you running active now, or passive

and are you trying to go from active to passive? - kinda hard to tell from what you are saying.

if you are active now, i suggest you stay that way as going passive will hurt your sound quality and output a decent amount.

mike help me out here....would it be better to get an average dd screen with a processor, or a great dd screen and go passive (probably wont have the funds to do the best of both)

Normally I'd say the first, but in your case it sounds like you'd rather have the nav. functionality and looks over the benefits to the sound.

I could count with one hand how many times I've used my DD to watch a movies, but i've lost count of how many times I just sat back to enjoy some tunes.

I agree though. The DD navi units just look better in the dash and for people who drive in unfamiliar areas, having the navi is nice. I plan to upgrade to the Kenwood DNX6140 paired with an Audison Bit One this summer. Now that they've got the bugs worked out that Audison piece is awesome. The Kenwood I listed has built in navi, Bluetooth, adjustable lighting (I hate how all the Alpine units light up blue) and even has a digital output. And the menus are way easier to use than the Eclipse/Alpine units I've tried. Just my $.02...
