Looking to get Loud for ~$175 each, 12" pair running off SAZ-1500D

So, after some insightful replies from very cool members. I have decided to revise this thread instead of making yet another one. This is going to be a theory build, nearly everything mentioned I don't own and plan to buy in the future. The only thing I own is the SAZ-1500D, everything else is speculation.

I want to start putting a build together to get the best sound out of my 1500D @ 1ohm.

Here is what i'm thinking so far.

2 batteries in parallel (on top of the one under the hood) Will normal batteries be enough in this configuration? Will I need an aftermarket alternator? If so, how many amps?

0/1 or 0/2 Gauge wiring throughout?? How big of fuses should I use? multiple parallel fuses? What kind of power draw am I looking at with 1ohm? math says ~100A @ 14V. (3Kw/14v)

What gauge wiring should I run from the 1500D to the subs?

Would I be better off running a pair of smaller subs or one larger sub? eg: 2 12's or 1 15/18

Theoretical power output of the AMP @ 1ohm, does the power output scale linearly? (I assume no)

If you have any input or suggestions let me know //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Thank's a lot //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Changed to 1ohm on the amp

I stopped reading at 6awg to cap then 4awg to amp.
lol bro I know, trust me, but its whats in the truck already, and we had spare 4gauge runs so we used that.

If the car isnt yours, why would you put a system in it?
It's my roommates truck, and I like bass? Working a full time minimum wage job + full time college doesn't give me enough money to pay for insurance.

ANYWAY, I guess il do new runs of 0Gauge. Or maybe I wont even install the 1500D, because like you all say, its not my car.. and im leaving in 2 months and taking the system with me if my roommate cant buy it from me.

BTW @ Myjaja, I feel the same about sa-12's

After hearing your opinions, I guess I should just hide this setup in a dark corner and pretend it doesn't exist. But it does a good job for the entire system (HU/wiring kit/Subs/AMP/Box) costing ~375 :|

I wouldn't mess with it, not worth the risk of him taking it or blowing it up. Leave whatever he has in there alone. At most offer to run him some 4awg wire and to do a cap delete.

Are cap's not good/worth it? I honestly don't know much about them. But the truck is having serious power draw issues, headlights are almost going out in heavy bass, becoming a safety issue. Need to do big 3 and a 4gauge run in his truck. Whats in there now is mine, and il sell it to someone else if he doesn't have the money. I even bought the HU, and il take that to >:p

I understand that you like bass, everyone on this forum does. lol Honestly man, if anything ever happens between the two of you, he might just take off with your system. Its up to you though but I wouldnt do it unless he pays for it or something

Lose the cap. Ssell it to someone else who think they help and then buy a cheap batt and at least some cheap 1/0.

After that, your best options for 12's under $175/ea are Obsidians or Skars probably if you want new. Unless you want to go used. That opens up a lot more options.
