looking to buy a new amp need advice

just got me a pair of kicker 12'' CVX subs

i am thinking of buying the kicker zx1500.1 or can i go a cheaper rout and buy a hifonics 1500 watt amp but i dont know much about hifonics so maybe some of you guys can give me some good info in here.

How about a smaller, yet solid, 4-500w 2ch amp? The power ratings on those subwoofers are a joke. Go to Kicker's website and notice the * by the recommended power and scroll down and read what it says.

That's marketing at it's worst.

You cant use both of those amps. The Kicker is a 2ohm and the Hifi is a 1ohm amp. your coils will tell you which one you can use.

why would i want a small amp for subs that are 1500 RMS 3000 peak watts?

subs are rated for 1000w rms, according to Kicker. a pair of those would be a good match for either amp, given you get the right voice coil versions. dual 2 ohm for kicker, dual 4 ohm for the hifonics.
