looking to buy a capacitor

my amp is a directed 1100d and i want to get a cap. Im not looking to spend alot of money.Just looking for something thats decent and cheap.Thanks

Why exactly is it that you're wanting to buy a capacitor? Are you having headlight dimming issues? Bad voltage drops at high volumes?

Or is it because you got that Directed amp and you're just wanting to be safe?

I ask because if you were to buy a capacitor at average retail pricing you will have spent twice as much (if not more) as it would have cost you to upgrade what is commonly termed "The Big 3" of your underhood wiring.

It will cost less than any retail pricing on a capacitor and will do worlds more good to bolster a taxed charging system than any stiffening cap might.

Thanks Prowler. I actually checked that out. Im not sure about the dimming issues because i havent hooked the amp up yet.I just figured with that kind of wattage that they would dim.Maybe ill just wait and see how bad it is.I bought the amp off here and should be getting it soon.

What size is your alternator that amp is very efficent my freind used the directed 1500d (same amp) and had the big 3 and a 1 farad cap and the voltage didn't really drop under 13.5 unless the car was off. I have a power acoustik 2 farad cap I will sell to you for like 60 bucks if your intrested, has voltage read out and a splice block for each the power and ground terminals.

i've got a memphis cap looks new with all the terminals and ill throw in a memphis fuse holder that holds four tube style fuses, one 0 gauge, and two four gauges for 80 shipped

its a one farad ferret
