I have been looking for a while. I would like something about 18 feet long with a center console in it.

Would you guys recmend any kind of particular brand? Dont know too much about boats. Thats why I was hopeing you guys could help me out.

So what are your thoughts?

My buddies dad has a 23 foot rinker captiva. It's a pretty badass boat from what I can tell. But I don't know a whole lot about boats, so I'm basing my opinion just from what I've experienced from seeing it/riding on it.

GLASTRON! i donno if they are still around, built in 1976 running strong (my grandparetns bought it), untill like last year when it just needed some updates in the engine.......some kick *** memories in that boat

My dad bought a boat and it was nothing but a money pit. I guess they are all like that, kinda felt bad for the poor guy because he always wanted a boat when he retired but it just drains the life out of you and your pockets it seems.

I guess if you get something small with an outboard it would not be too bad, I think his was a 28' and had a bedroom and shit in and man I tell you every week there would be some other big ticket item to fix.. you think CA is expensive wait until you get a boat!

im guessing your looking for a fishing boat?

bay boats/saltwater, w/e you want to call them

blue wave

kenner

nitro

mako

thats all i can think of right now, im half asleep

Bayliners make ok ski boats.. They aren't that bad. I could see an opionion on motor brand, but molded fiberglass is fibreglass. heh.

Don't buy a Bayliner. They ****. Some look good but they are built cheap.
Disposable boats ftl.

what kind of boat exactly? like one with a cabin and whatnot or a skiff or what? Wooldridge boats are pretty solid, but kind of expensive. My uncle has a couple of em and they are great aluminum boats. Went fishin in that thing many a times and just camped out on sandbars.

Mastercrafts are real pricey, and mainly for wakeboarding and skiing. If you do want a center console, those are more larger fishing boats, typically outboard motors many of them used for salt water. Any pleasure boat will have console on right side, some racing boats are on the left. Good boat brands that wont kill you price wise in that size are Sea Ray, Four Winns, Chaparral, Glastron, Rinker, Larson, Century. They do take some upkeep like winterizing and such, but if you do regular maintenance they can run forever.
