Looking to add sounds to my 02 impala

Ive been up and down with this car. Not knowing too much about car audio I went to a place who didn't do business well with me. I had a 2 way remote starter put in my car which eventually shut my whole car down because they did a poor job of installation (wires werent taped and etc). I went to another place and they told me the alarm for one was a crappy brand (excalibur) and that place didnt take care of their customers. I eventually had to have the alarmed pulled out and then my pioneer radio doesn't work. Im looking to start off new and getting some advice from those of you out there. I currently have 2 12's in the trunk. Im looking to replace the door speakers (should i get an amp for these also) and put in another head unit and a remote starter with alarm. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2000 impala and the radio was the worse! you will lose ur door chimes and the automatic volume adjustment. you the front stock speakers get pretty loud off just the head unit. I changed my 6x9s and ran them off a separate amp and changed my 6.5's and ran them off the hu.

i have an 05 and if properly wored you can keep the door chime but lose all finctions the radio served such as resetting the change oil light yourself and others..but a nice component set up front off a nice amp is all you really need in that car unless you always have passengers then get a 4 channel and some decent 6x9's for the rear..

what do you mean the door chime? is that the original keyless entry remote/alarm?
