Looking into building boxes for people...

Hello all,

Ive gotten the hang of building boxes. Ive got all the tools from a router, to a table saw, to a nail gun. Im wondering what kinda fee should i charge? I dont really know what to charge starting off. What do people on average charge? I couldnt really do designs, but if people sent me what they wanted i could build it. Thanks for any info,

Btw, i dont know how to carpet. I could paint. But i need to carpet some of my own boxes before i do it commercially.

ur gonna have alot of competition fyi. I usually charge parts and wood x2. so if it costs 25 for all the stuff to make the box I'll charge 50 and so on

lol, im thinking materials x2 sounds like a good rule of thumb. At least for starters.

ive gotten quotes on here from 80-250 for a 4 cube ported box. the 80 was local pick up.(thats what i went with lol)but i built my own this time around.

I charge around 100 which is materials x2 I don't carpet them though I rhino line mine as it's easy and looks diff. Granted im just a beginner but they turn out well and sound good.

I would plan on doing boxes like the one in the pic above(post 7), but may do non covered/painted boxes as well. Also, what kind of primer is best before paint? What kind of paint. I may do flekstone as i have experience with it.

my favorite primer is Kilz...one or two coats is usually enough
