I just purchased a 2014 GMC Sierra Crew cab SLT. While the stock Bose system is quite good, I want to give it a little more bass and am thinking about adding two 10's and a amp to the stock head unit and system. I personally haven't kept up with car audio for years, but want something that has good quality and will compliment the stock system already in the vehicle. I've looked at the Fox Box and seem to like what I've read. I called two local install dealers. One pushed Memphis Audio and the other Digital Design. The Memphis Audio with a 600 watt amp installed was around 850 (carpeted box, not the fox box) and the Digital Design with a 1000 watt amp was around 1000 (this was quoted with the fox box).
I used to dabble in car audio years ago and feel like I can save some cash doing the install myself but I'm so far out of date with the equipment I'd prefer some advice. Two 10's, amp and box under the 850 mark (preferably around or under 600 is what I'm looking to spend). I'm not looking for anything serious. I'm just wanted some quality bass to enhance my listening experience. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
