Memphis PR150.2

I was having some trouble with the rca's, sometimes they make a crackling sound, I can jiggle them and it stops. I have tried different RCA cables. Maybe a loose connection on the board

I was hoping somebody could fix it pretty cheap so I can use it again

cheap easy way top fix it:

open it up, find where the pos and neg of the rca signal goes to on the board. its a 2 channal amp and each channal will have a pos and a neg side of the input signal coming in. the rca "outputs" are mearly an extra set of plugs connected in parallel directly with the pos and neg of the input signal. another way to look at it is on a 1 channal amp all the rca pos and negs for the "inputs" and "outputs" are all connected to the same pos and neg internally. the "outputs" act as a plug to tap into the signal with another rca cable (going to another amp). With your 2ch amp there should be 2 differant sets of pos and neg corelating to the eacjh appropriate channal.

you're going to wanna attach an rca cable to the board. you do this by soldering off or CAREFULLY breaking off that entire rca terminal off the board. Take your rca cable and strip it down so you have a pos and neg. the pos it typically in the middle and the neg is the unsheathed run of copper spiraling around the sheathed positive run. you can pull up the metal lead off the board or just tightly wrap/tie the rca lead to where ever the lead is going. make sure all connections are SOLID. be careful with solder to not damage anything other components on the board. attach an rca cable to each channal and you now have your left and right rca plugs. if need be go to radio shack and get the appropriate adapter.

note that after you attach these wires to the board you will want to silicone that joint into place, and zip tie the wire to the side of the amp. this way if something tugs hard on the wire the ziptied part will protect the joint. dont ziptie it too tight damaging the wire.

it's not as crazy and hard to do as youd think. with a steady hand a little bit of planning you can pull this off and save yourself some money. if you need to remove the board from the heatsink go ahead and do but, but be very crafe to not damage the mosfets and be as static free as possible. circuit board are sensitive to static electricity sometime.

if you have an questions pm me

Too bad you arent in Cali, I'd hook you up for free, had to do it on two of my own amps.
