Looking for some input

I have finally decided on Hertz HSK165 components. Now I need to find an amplifier. Is it true that you want the amp more powerful than the speakers? The speakers can handle 125w rms. I'm looking to spend about $300 max on an amp. I've heard a lot of good things about Audison and was considering this amp. Just wondering if that's a good choice or if i should consider something else?

I was also looking at this Alpine amp mainly for its size, but I haven't heard much about them.

Too a point this is true , but you dont want to put 300-400 watts RMS to a set of speakers that are rated at 125 . You wont be able to use the amp to its full potential cause you'll need to have the gains on the amp down to keep from blowing the speakers .

Having more power than you need gives you dynamic headroom which allows you too play the speakers louder without clipping the amp .

You want to find an amp that puts out the same or a little higher rated power than the speakers , like Seth said 200 watts would be good .

That Audison looks like a solid amp ....
