Yeah I got it running on 1500 and it sounds great tbh..I got it dirt cheap on CL

I love old school gear too, I still have a Precision Power PC450 running in my 2016 Mitsubishi ASX.  Love the clean sound and signal to noise ratio on those amps.  I have a newer Phoenix Gold RX1100.1 running my subs though.  I Think for bass duties, Class D is easier on the cars electrical system. The PG is running a pair of Old school Boston Acoustics 12.5LF subwoofers.
