looking for more spl

well i currently have 2 soundsplinter rl-p 12's and they are great, just want to see if there is something i can run with better spl. i listen to nothing but rap, so i don't need such a great sq sub. i tried porting these at 39 hz. and it increased my spl while i was listening to a 50 hz. tone, but music sounds awful so i'm going back to 32 hz. would a 15" re sx in a 3.2 ft^3 box tuned to 33 hz. give me more spl then 2 rl-p's in a 3.6 ft^3 box tuned to 32 hz? is there anything else i should look into that would work with either box. (want to use either of those 2 boxes) for power i have a pg tantrum 1200.1.

yeah that box would work and if not just tune it higher around maybee 38

they have good spl, don't get me wrong, but i'm really not an sq fanatic when it comes to subwoofers so i'm thinking of getting something a little more geared towards spl.

also i'm gonna get them metered tommorrow probably. i never heard a metered system so i have no idea what i'll hit.

gotcha, im looking for good sq with spl to boot. cant really recommend anything, the only speakers i know much about are the sq type. ummm if u like to look at speakers u can check out realmofexcursion lol =D

it's definately a good all around driver. when i play my 50 hz. tone at 39 hz. tunning it does get pretty loud. what part of detroit are you at? i'm always down there a lot so you could always listen to them if you wanted.

did you hit a 151 with that box in your sig? when i have my box tuned to 39 hz. and playing test tones it's louder then hell, but when i play music it doesn't seem to be as loud as it was at 32 hz. and sounds awful to boot.

neither the dp or sx will get louder imho...

a little bit. i also deadened the car and upgraded my electrical system. the brahma was a more sq sub and acted like it needed more power to really get going.
